Job Description
As the Management Accountant reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be instrumental in adding value and contributing to the commercial decisions based on sound financial facts and analysis. You will have day-to-day control and responsibility for all the divisions’ finances, processes, and reporting.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Analysis and Reporting
* Interpret and present financial data with clear, concise analysis.
* Analyse and deliver insights that link financial reports to business objectives.
* Utilize ‘big’ and ‘small’ data, with appropriate tools, to manipulate, analyse, and interpret data in sophisticated, audience-appropriate ways.
Decision Making
* Challenge Directors and Senior Management within each division.
* Collaborate to maintain and obtain data supporting management decisions.
* Support division members with limited financial knowledge to develop a better understanding and enforce discipline regarding core processes.
* Influence day-to-day decisions, shaping strategy and business direction.
Budgeting
* Deliver and challenge the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process for each division.
* Provide financial insights into budgets and forecasts.
* Engage with division teams to educate them on the budget process, gather input, and ensure adherence during event delivery.
* Report monthly on risks and opportunities related to budgets.
Fiscal
* Implement effective commercial procedures or initiate changes to meet operational, commercial, and financial targets.
* Maintain timely and accurate recording of financial data.
* Analyse event P&Ls, identify underperformance areas, and suggest solutions.
* Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns.
* Ensure prompt action on annual audits, providing necessary evidence.
General
* Collaborate with divisions’ reporting to the group finance function.
* Enhance efficiency within the accounting process, ensuring alignment between Group and divisions.
* Manage daily control of divisions’ finances, including monthly management accounts, budgets, and reporting analysis.
* Develop and stand by your professional opinions, uphold strong ethics.
* Occasionally attend events, including weekends.
* Consider sustainable solutions and best practices to reduce environmental impact and support the company’s sustainability strategy.
* Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.
