Job overview
Our Transport Courier (TTA) will be responsible for collecting and delivering a variety of items to various locations in South Devon, primarily as a pharmacy delivery driver.
The role involves collecting pharmacy items and delivering them promptly to home addresses and surgeries across the Trust area.
Main duties of the job
* Transport pharmacy items, goods, equipment, correspondence, and biological samples between hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, and patient homes.
* Operate on tight schedules due to the nature of specimens and confidential paperwork, requiring high awareness of assets.
* Participate in a rota system covering various shifts as required.
Working for our organisation
Work involves five fixed courier rounds with four TTA delivery drivers, all based in the Transport department committed to providing excellent service.
Detailed job responsibilities
* Handle post, packages, X-rays, patient notes, prescription boxes, and medical equipment.
* Collect and deliver sterile and unsterile medical instruments, family planning, dental, and theatre packs.
* Manage blood and other biological samples safely, following protocols for hazardous materials.
* Deliver pharmacy items, including controlled drugs, emergency supplies, and patient nutrition fluids.
* Transport pathology samples, including hazardous specimens, and deliver to outlying areas.
* Handle the collection and delivery of cytotoxic drugs and confidential waste.
* Deliver blank prescription pads and other medical supplies as needed.
Person specification

* Full UK driving license
* C1 driving license
Experience
* Experience in driving-based roles
* Ability to prioritize and organize workload
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
