Job Description:
Bristol (Hybrid Working - 3 Days in the office)
Sustainability & Safety Systems Business
SR2 is recruiting for a Senior Java Engineer for a Bristol-based client. We have hired for them over the past 12 months due to company growth and are excited to support them with this new hire!
The client is a privately owned business that has experienced success and organic growth in recent years. The role involves working closely with the Tech Lead within a cross-functional agile development team in an Azure Cloud environment, involved in end-to-end development.
The company is committed to advancing technology with modern tools, enhancing safety and sustainability of their products and systems, all designed and built in the UK. They are also dedicated to reducing environmental impact through energy-saving measures and system upgrades.
About the role:
If you're an experienced Java software engineer with skills in Spring Boot, REST APIs or GraphQL, CI/CD, and have worked in collaborative agile teams, this role is a great fit. You should be able to work autonomously, contribute to design decisions, and work closely with the Tech Lead.
The engineering team works cross-functionally, providing opportunities to collaborate with different types of engineers and share skills. You'll join a supportive company with a 'one team' ethic, solving complex issues and developing product features further.
The systems are highly complex, so if you love problem-solving, this role is ideal for you.
Experience needed:
* Java and Spring
* Up-to-date with industry best practices
* Experience working within an Agile Scrum environment
* Skilled in software design, implementation, deployment, and test-driven development
Benefits include: 26 days holiday (plus bank holidays), private healthcare, annual bonus, cycle-to-work scheme, and 2 charity volunteering days per year.
