As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Depot Manager to join our team and oversee the efficient operation of our Telford depot.
Position Overview:
The Depot Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our depot operations, including inventory management, scheduling, team supervision, quality management and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction (or similar), excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
* Manage inventory levels, including procurement, storage and distribution of loft boarding materials and equipment.
* Coordinate with installation teams to fulfil material requirements for customer projects.
* Develop and implement depot operating procedures to optimise efficiency and productivity.
* Supervise installation teams, providing leadership, training, and performance and absence management as needed.
* Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment, and maintenance activities.
* Conduct regular inspections of the depot facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
* Prepare reports and provide updates to senior management on depot operations and performance.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in warehouse or depot management, preferably in the construction or home improvement industry (or similar)
* Strong knowledge of joinery, loft boarding materials, tools/ equipment and logistics.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
