CNC Machinists Morson are exclusively recruiting for a apprentice served/or NVQ or city and guilds level 3 qualified CNC Machinists, based at their Wolverhampton site. This is a 6 month contract although highly likely to be long-term/temporary to permanent. CNC Machinist Shift Pattern (37 hours) /Pay rates: Starting on Weekdays (22.87 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay £3.33 per hour/£31.18 per hour Umbrella) Moving onto Earlies and Lates rotated weekly: Shift uplift: £26.18 per hour PAYE plus holiday - £3.81 per hour / £35.70 per hour Umbrella) Earlies: Monday-Thursday 6am-1.15pm, 6am-1pm Friday - Lates: Monday-Thursday 1.15 -9pm, 1 -7pm Friday Overtime available CNC Machinists Client role overview : As a Machinist within our Global Defence Systems value stream, you will play a key role in producing complex components to support critical defence programmes. Working on 4-axis CNC milling machines, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and machining precision parts to exacting standards, while contributing to continuous improvement across the value stream. What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like? • Set and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc control systems. • Machine complex components to tight tolerances, following engineering drawings. • Carry out tool changes, manage speeds and feeds, and ensure process efficiency. • Use a variety of in-process gauging and inspection equipment to verify component quality. • Apply continuous improvement methods within a manufacturing environment. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues across the production team. What will you bring to the role? CNC Machinist -Essential skills: • Proven experience working on 4-axis CNC milling machines (Fanuc). • Background in mechanical/manufacturing engineering within a production environment Desirable skills: • Knowledge of control systems and process optimisation. • Experience machining complex defence or aerospace components. • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies. • Ability to use a wide range of inspection and gauging equipment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings.
