Production Shift Manager
Location: Bradford
Initially 8am - 5pm, will move to 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm
Elevation Recruitment are working with a fast-paced manufacturer who are looking for a couple of experienced, hands-on Production Shift Managers, to oversee manufacturing activities, drive standards, identify continuous improvement / lean opportunities and ensure operational excellence across the board.
About the Role:
As the Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets against contractual demands. With line management responsibility for Production Operatives, your focus will be on achieving production volumes whilst controlling waste, machinery parameters, people management duties and reporting into the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities of the Shift Production Manager include:
* Leading shift production operations across multiple manufacturing lines
* Manage production arrears and ensure OTIF (on-time, in-full) for customer order fulfilment with a Right First Time mentality
* Drive optimal performance of people, processes, and equipment in line with production targets, safety standards, quality expectations, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Ensure appropriate workforce levels based on production demand
* Identify opportunities for Lean activities and continuous improvement opportunities
* Promote a Health & Safety culture with adherence to company standards
* Promote a positive, productive working environment, leading by example and operating on the line if necessary
About You:
We’re looking capable and confident Production Shift Leaders with a proven background in production or manufacturing management, ideally within a continuous flow or high volume / high rate setting. You'll be able to example your people management skills to drive operational standards and performance, with some examples of CI/Lean improvements that you have delivered.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience leading teams in a fasted paced manufacturing / production environment - driving quality and production output
* A good knowledge of HSE standards
* A level of mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and rectify machinery or production issues
* A natural leader with a track record of motivating and developing teams
* Any qualifications or training around Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement will benefit your application
