Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School-Based) Location: Daventry and surrounding areas Job Type: Part-time / Flexible (School hours, term-time) Salary: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in home and school-based settings across Daventry and nearby areas. The role involves delivering personalised tuition to children and young people who require additional academic support during school hours. You will work closely with learners to help them re-engage with education, build confidence, and make progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths. Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 tuition in pupils’ homes or school environments Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs Support core subjects, primarily English and Maths Monitor and record pupil progress where required Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment Follow safeguarding procedures at all times Requirements Minimum 2 years teaching or tutoring experience (school, tuition, or equivalent education setting) Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum Experience working with children or young people Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) Ability to travel locally within Daventry and surrounding areas Desirable Experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (not essential) Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition What We Offer Flexible daytime work during school hours (term-time only) Local placements across Daventry Ongoing pupil referrals and consistent opportunities Competitive hourly pay based on experience Rewarding role making a real difference to pupils’ education How to Apply Please send your CV and a short cover note outlining your experience, availability, and preferred age groups or key stages.
