Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a primary school that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support for a Year 1 student. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student while working collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one support to a Year 1 student with specific learning needs.
* Assist in the development and implementation of personalized educational plans.
* Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt and differentiate lessons to meet the student\'s needs.
* Foster positive relationships to support the student\'s social and emotional development.
* Monitor and record the student\'s progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher.
* Implement behavioural strategies and interventions as directed by the teacher or SENCO.
* Encourage the student\'s independence and participation in classroom activities.
* Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on the student\'s progress.
Qualifications
* Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Previous experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, preferably in Year 1.
* Understanding of child development and learning principles.
* Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting individual student needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances as required by the school.
