Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant – Trauma and Orthopaedics
An exciting opportunity in the Trauma and Orthopaedics Team at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Assist qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide therapeutic care and rehabilitation to patients.
* Support the broader multidisciplinary team by attending handovers and board rounds to aid patient care planning.
* Carry out treatment programmes directed by physiotherapists, including for more complex patients.
* Motivate patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
* Perform administrative tasks such as note writing, data collection for audit purposes, and reporting back to the team.
* Manage equipment and cleaning duties, and provide general IT support.
* Assist with safe discharge of patients from hospital.
Qualifications
* Empathetic nature with excellent communication skills.
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably on a hospital ward.
* Proficiency in moving and handling patients.
* Ability to work independently while following direction from qualified therapists.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* General IT skills.
