JOB LOCATION: This role is based in Daventry, UK. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You’ll help keep colleagues safe, prevent machine downtime, boost equipment availability, and support a safer operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment.
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
* Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
* Uphold all health and safety policies and practices.
* Support the development and progression of on‑site apprentices.
* Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites.
A Day in the Life
RME Technicians are based on‑site so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. They carry out planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment works safely, respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate and implement solutions fast, and suggest long‑term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, they undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks, liaise with contractors when external expertise is needed, and work a range of shifts to support sites around the clock.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 / IVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 / EAL Level 3 specialized in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
* 4‑year UK certified apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
* Work a flexible schedule/shift, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
* Relevant experience as a qualified engineer in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
* Advanced proficiency in the local language, verbally and in writing.
* Ready to provide proof of qualifications obtained as part of Amazon’s Terms of Employment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
* Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards according to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards.
* Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
* Experience in condition‑based monitoring.
* Experience working with print and apply machines.
