The role:
Our client specialises in property and lifestyle and as well as having a huge UK presence, they’re looking to expand internationally, and they’ve identified China as a big target market for them so this role will be all about handling digital for both the UK and for building this new market. The role has lots of different areas though, and the main focus will be providing support on all things digital to the Digital Marketing Manager. You’ll be responsible for managing content and performance updates from a CMS perspective and liaising with multiple external agencies who will deal with a lot of the technical aspects of PPC and SEO. You’ll be involved with Third-party listings management, SEO optimisation and paid digital execution as well as international social media marketing. You’ll also report on digital KPI’s and own conversion and drop off analysis, you’ll build test and iterate CRO enhancements in line with digital strategy and you’ll use data insight to recommend UX improvements and content layout changes.
From an international perspective, you’ll liaise with their agency partner for WeChat, building their mini programme to maximise enquiries and develop plans to launch into new Chinese focussed channels including Red and Baidu.
You’ll report into the Digital marketing manager, and also liaise with the wider marketing team including content and CRM specialists.
What we’re looking for:
This role is perfect for someone who favours web analysis and CMS rather than someone who wants creativity on a daily basis. You’ll want to delve deep into analytics platforms to understand what is working and why and to make recommendations for improvements, and you’ll relish the opportunity to work with external agencies and will be unapologetically results-driven. Now, our client knows that they’re after a lot with this role so whilst it would be favourable to have someone who is a Mandarin speaker or who has previous experience of utilising WeChat, they would consider candidates who have had exposure to developing international digital marketing strategies who also have 1-2 years proven experience of digital marketing under their belt. At the very least you’ll be able to demonstrate a real passion for learning about these specific markets.
You might currently be working in a role where you are involved heavily with a CMS system or where you use 3rd party listing sites – property, hotels, or retail, but you’ll definitely have experience of liaising with agencies. You must have experience of google analytics and reporting.
Personality is going to be absolutely key to this role – you’ll be confident, a self-starter and be keen to talk about the numbers, not just crunch them and you’ll have a willingness to learn.
What’s on Offer?
This role is available as a 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential to turn into a permanent role, but this is not guaranteed at this stage. Based in Birmingham, you’ll need to be able to get into the office once or twice per week. This is an opportunity for someone to step up from an assistant level role and really learn new things with an organisation which is really growing. Salary is £28-32k depending on experience.
