JOB REF: JM0924
I am looking to recruit 2 part-time Personal/Home Care Assistants to join my daughter’s (J) support team.
You should have experience supporting someone with complex health, physical, and learning difficulties.
Care will be in our home, working alongside our full-time carer, but you will also work alone at times. We are a busy household with Mum, brother, brother's girlfriend, J, a dog, a cat, and a tortoise.
J needs full support in daily activities, including continence and personal care (showering, hair washing, teeth brushing). She is tube-fed, wheelchair users, and uses a hoist for transfers.
J also has uncontrolled epilepsy, which can severely impact her on some days.
Good spoken English is desirable as J has communication difficulties.
J enjoys outings like garden centers, seaside, and activities at SPACE, with memberships to National Trust and Sea Life centres, so an interest in these is beneficial.
We seek someone who encourages J to participate actively in activities.
You will receive:
* £12.00 per hour
* A pension if eligible
* 5.6 weeks annual leave per year (pro rata)
* Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
Hours available:
* Two part-time positions:
Post 1: 2 weekends/month (Sat & Sun, 9am-9pm) and Tuesdays (12pm-9pm), providing 2:1 care, totaling 57 hours/month.
Post 2: 2 weekends/month (Sat & Sun, 9am-9pm), Thursdays (5pm-9pm, 1:1 care), and 2 Sundays/month (12pm-4pm, alternate days), totaling 56 hours/month.
Additional hours may be available for holidays and sickness cover.
Requirements:
* Assist with personal care, bathing, dressing, feeding, changing.
* Full driving license and willingness to drive her insured van (must be over 25).
* Flexibility and reliability are essential.
* Weekend work is essential.
* Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer).
* Ability to accompany J to swimming and be in the pool with her.
* Ability to push a wheelchair.
