We are gearing up for AMP8, delivering a larger programme of work than ever before. We will focus on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes. With many sites across the region, we aim to meet project timeframes safely and efficiently. We are looking for a Supervisor (Mechanical) to join us.
What will you be doing as our new Supervisor (Mechanical)?
You’ll site supervise and input into projects from inception to completion. You’ll be site-based with regular communication between other members of the delivery team in the local office. Working with the Site Manager, you’ll manage day-to-day delivery teams and sub-contractors on site, and communicate tasks to direct labour teams and predominantly sub-contractors to meet delivery programmes.
You’ll implement and monitor health, safety, quality, environmental and performance standards, ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and Anglian Water approved standards.
Key responsibilities
* Implement @One requirements and statutory legal regulations, with specific attention to HSE legislation.
* Carry out and record site inspections of site, plant, equipment, structures, and excavations.
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements; review and amend risk assessments.
* Ensure site personnel have job-relevant training requirements and are entered on the site personnel training register.
* Encourage and promote near-miss reporting, ensuring close outs are delivered and fed back to the site manager and operatives through electronic reporting.
* Ensure inspection and test plans are written and followed, maintaining high levels of quality control.
* Ensure high levels of safety are observed during pressure testing with accurate record keeping during project delivery.
* Schedule, co-ordinate and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours
To join us as a Site Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll hold a relevant Mechanical Qualification and proven experience in a similar role, along with a CSCS supervisor card and a CITB SMSTS qualification. You should be HSG47 Trained in underground service avoidance and SEATS Environmental awareness, with a proven track record delivering a range of schemes or supervisory experience on multiple schemes at any one time.
You’ll demonstrate previous supervisor experience and be comfortable leading by example, with proven problem-solving skills in a Mechanical environment. You should be open to adopting new technology and procedures while developing professionally, and you’ll mentor a range of operatives on site. Extensive travel across the Anglian Water region is required as permit issue is to be in person at the point of work.
