Electrical Engineer – Operational
Remote (UK) | Occasional Office Meetings (Every Couple of Months) | Site Visits as Required
£500–£600 per day (DOE)
6-Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension)
We are supporting a leading renewable energy organisation in the search for an experienced Operational Electrical Engineer to provide technical governance and support across a portfolio of operational renewable assets.
This role sits within a central engineering function and will focus on maximising asset performance, managing electrical technical risk, and supporting maintenance strategy across utility-scale renewable projects.
The Role
Reporting into the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will:
Provide electrical technical support to Asset Managers across operational renewable assets
Lead investigations into technical non-conformances and electrical incidents
Manage fleet-wide electrical engineering risks and improvement programmes
Support the development of long-term maintenance strategies
Review and approve drawings, reports and technical studies
Conduct site inspections and technical due diligence
Support development, construction and R&D teams with technical assurance
The role is predominantly remote, with office collaboration required once every couple of months and occasional site visits.
Key Requirements
Strong experience as an Operational Electrical Engineer within renewables or power generation
Excellent knowledge of HV electrical systems and operational asset management
Experience managing technical risk, change control and engineering investigations
Strong understanding of maintenance strategy and asset performance optimisation
Ability to lead improvement projects across operational assets
HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering
