Job description
Our client, BAE Systems, a key player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Contract PCB Designer to join their team. This role, primarily based in Cowes with potential work at Broadoak, offers a hybrid arrangement requiring three days on-site per week. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to crucial defence projects within a highly respected company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for various defence applications
2. Collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet technical and security requirements
3. Utilising CAD software, with a preference for Cadence Allegro, to create and modify PCB layouts
4. Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
5. Working closely with manufacturing teams to support the production of PCB designs
6. Maintaining thorough documentation and providing progress updates to stakeholders
Job Requirements:
7. Proven experience in PCB design, preferably using Cadence Allegro
8. Understanding of defence sector standards and security requirements
9. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
10. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
11. Security clearance: BPSS + SC in Flight, subject to ITAR and UK eyes only
12. Flexibility to work on-site three days a week from Cowes or Portsmouth
