An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Lanarkshire Council, one of Scotland's largest and best performing local authorities, leading our well established and successful Asylum and Refugee Service.
We are looking for an excellent communicator who can manage a wide range of diverse and complex programmes as well as supporting and leading a specialist trauma informed team.
The successful candidate must have hands on experience as well as strategic and operational understanding of refugee resettlement and integration programmes. They must also have a sound knowledge of immigration issues including asylum requirements and No Recourse to Public Funds challenges.
You will be the first point of contact for guidance and advice both internally and across Community Planning Partners.
The team is a Scottish Social Services Council and Care Inspectorate registered service. You must therefore have relevant qualifications to provide management support, or be willing to work towards achieving this qualification within 2 years of taking up post.
The Refugee Resettlement Service delivers intensive and specialist housing support. The support provided is based on need and therefore may not fit with regular office working hours. The Advisor postholder is required to bring an innovative and flexible approach to supporting the team, new arrivals and households across South Lanarkshire.
