Job Overview
Our client is a well-respected and long-established distributor of construction supplies, building materials and timber products. The Newport branch is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the branch manager in running a busy, forward‑moving site. The role requires strong sales and operational expertise and a penchant for continuous market share growth.
Responsibilities
* Assist the branch manager with all aspects of running a successful branch.
* Manage stock levels, buying and inventory to ensure smooth operation.
* Drive sales performance and maintain/expand market share.
* Supervise and lead the branch staff, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment.
* Guide and assist the team wherever required.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in sales and operations within the construction supply sector.
* Management or supervisory experience.
* Current employment in the construction supply sector.
* Strong sales drive combined with solid operational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
* All‑rounder with good stock‑management skills and buying experience.
