Teaching and Learning Lead - Science
Harton Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative Teaching and Learning Lead for Science to join our committed team. This position presents a unique opportunity to join our whole‑school Teaching and Learning team, contributing to the development of our whole‑school Teaching and Learning strategy and supporting its implementation within the science department and across the entire academy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing pedagogical practices, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and ensuring that our students receive a high‑quality education that prepares them for future challenges.

As Teaching and Learning Lead for Science, you will play a pivotal role in driving high standards of teaching and learning within the Science department and across the academy. Your expertise will help shape effective practice, support colleagues and ensure our students are challenged and inspired in their academic studies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and evaluation of Teaching and Learning within Science, and across subjects, collaborating with subject leaders and colleagues to share best practice and support continuous improvement.
* Deliver engaging and challenging lessons, using high‑quality resources to foster students’ scientific understanding and literacy skills.
* Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in pedagogy, embedding innovative approaches into classroom practice across the academy.
* Design and deliver impactful CPD sessions, both within the department and for the wider school community, to support professional growth.
* Take an active role in quality assurance processes, contributing to coaching, mentoring and targeted interventions that enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
