Overview
Clinical Psychologist (Derwen College) – part-time position at Derwen College. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team to support students with a wide range of needs, helping them to thrive emotionally and socially during their time at College. The role involves providing high-quality psychological input and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to create safe, supportive, and inclusive environments.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation for students with learning disabilities and related needs.
* Collaborate with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to develop and implement person-centred care plans.
* Contribute to the development of inclusive practices and environments within the College.
* Offer guidance on risk assessment, safeguarding, and ethical considerations in psychological practice.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
* Registered as Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC.
* Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status (BPS).
* Comprehensive knowledge of the full range of psychological needs of adults with a learning disability, including presentation, assessment, and treatment.
* Evidence of continuing professional development for self and others.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and communicate effectively with individuals and staff at all levels.
* Advanced IT and computer skills; knowledge of quality improvement/audit with practical application.
