Requirements
* Development, management, and support of infrastructure underpinning platforms, applications, and data supporting the business.
* Automating processes to enable rapid, secure delivery of capabilities.
* Experience in developing Infrastructure as Code for automation from development to production.
* Passion for improving workflows and understanding market trends.
* Stakeholder needs analysis and effective communication.
* Code testing, review, and governance.
* Ensuring systems are secure by design, familiar with NCSC principles.
* Managing platform security on cloud and on-premises, including secrets, tokens, and certificates.
* Collaborating with business, architecture, engineering, security, and data teams to ensure proper development and delivery processes.
* Project planning and management involvement.
* Design, security, and maintenance of on-prem/cloud infrastructure.
* Making informed technical decisions and resolving disputes.
* Effective communication across organizational and technical boundaries, simplifying complex information.
* Data exposure via APIs, data linking, and streaming services.
* Risk documentation and security feature integration in the SDLC.
* Monitoring infrastructure and security threats.
* Ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations.
* Early vulnerability detection and rapid deployment of secure software.
* Adherence to security standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Experience working in Agile methodologies.
Ideal Candidates will demonstrate:
* Experience collaborating with security teams.
* Strong infrastructure design skills for on-premises environments, including migrations.
* Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem designs.
* Technological versatility and innovative approach within project constraints.
* Understanding of software release management and governance.
* Proficiency with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, YAML), and performance monitoring.
* Experience with testing, automation, and deployment pipelines.
* Knowledge of GDS standards and digital service phases.
* Understanding SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and bespoke development implications.
* Ability to train, support, and mentor teams.
* Experience in managing live systems, incident resolution, and defect management.
* Experience with Terraform, YAML, automation tools, and monitoring instrumentation.
* Experience with security testing tools like SAST and DAST, and on-prem DevOps tools.
