The Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural steelwork. You will join a close-knit, highly skilled in-house design team and take a hands-on role leading projects from concept through to completion.
This is a client-facing position that offers the chance to work on high-profile and technically challenging builds. It requires someone with excellent design capabilities, commercial awareness, and the confidence to guide both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Structural design and analysis of steelwork in accordance with current standards and codes
Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, clients, and suppliers
Deliver technically robust, innovative, and cost-effective solutions
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate internal design efforts
Provide input on project costing and ensure commercial viability throughout delivery
What We’re Looking For
Extensive experience in structural steel design, ideally within a consultancy or fabrication environment
Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot, etc.)
Solid understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commercially astute with an understanding of the construction lifecycle
