Salary: £32,000 – £34,000, permanent
Trek Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading global manufacturer based in Wrexham, part of an international group with production facilities worldwide. Our client is seeking a talented, recently qualified (graduate) Automation Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering team.
In this exciting role, you'll be at the heart of designing, developing, and enhancing cutting-edge production lines and automated equipment that will be deployed across UK and international sites. From initial concept through to build, commissioning, and ongoing improvements, you'll contribute to the future of advanced manufacturing.
THE ROLE
Create detailed designs using industry-leading (3D) CAD software
Perform research, analysis, and optimisation to ensure designs are feasible, efficient, and high-performing
Produce and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including modifications and progress reports
Prepare accurate project costings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Carry out testing, validation, and performance verification
Provide hands-on support for design changes during build and commissioning phases
Troubleshoot and support existing equipment both on-site and across global group companies YOU
We're looking for a motivated early-career engineer with:
A relevant qualification and recent qualification (Degree, BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a very closely related field
Strong interest in automation systems, mechanical assembly, and equipment design/development
Solid knowledge of 3D CAD tools
Understanding of industrial automation processes and manufacturing environments
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Great communication and teamwork abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines

Salary: £32,000 – £34,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
