Priory Hospital Avesbury House is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team. Located near picturesque national parkland, Priory Hospital Avesbury House in Edmonton, North London, is a forensic low secure facility for men with mental health needs, who require continuing care and treatment. We have 24 beds which are fully funded by Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust (BEH) and specifically by the regional secure unit at Chase Farm Hospital.
What you\'ll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Whether you\'re assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
* Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
* Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
* Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
* Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

What you\'ll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with an active NMC registration, 6 to 12 months’ post-registration experience, and completion of a preceptorship programme. They will have knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of post-registration continuing professional development. The candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a commitment to change, improvement, and quality, and the ability to develop and use flexible, innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. They will have a minimum of 6 months’ post-registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment, with evidence of continued professional development in a relevant field.
