Your Role
As a Participation Officer, you will play a vital role in our agency's Participation Service. Your responsibilities will include:
* Organizing engaging activities and workshops for children in our care.
* Planning family events and exciting days out.
* Building strong relationships with regional colleagues, foster parents, and external professionals.
* Attending meetings with professionals from Education, Health, and Social Services to support our children’s care plans.
* Maintaining clear and accurate records.
* Staying updated on professional practice standards, legislation, and company policies.
* Providing support and guidance to families to promote stability in foster placements.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
* Has experience working with children and young people, advocating for their voices to be heard.
* Understands the challenges faced by children who have experienced trauma.
* Possesses a relevant qualification or training in childcare, education, social work, or related fields.
* Has excellent communication skills and can build rapport with diverse individuals.
* Can remain calm in high-pressure situations and manage difficult behaviors.
* Is proficient in written communication and has intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office and databases).
* Holds a full driving license and has access to a vehicle.
* Is willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based in Sheffield, with travel throughout the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, East Midlands, and Northampton regions. While some work can be done from home, regular travel to our regional office is expected.

* A basic salary of £23,000 per annum.
