The Financial Accountant acts as an entrepreneur and is committed to developing high performance teams and at the same time acts as a role model in terms of demonstrating and living Refrescos core values and behaviours. Additionally, the role involves managing and continuously improving all financial accounting functions within the Business Unit Here are your key tasks and responsibilities as Financial Accountant at Refresco: Manage VAT compliance: monthly reconciliations, quarterly HMRC filings, process improvements, and VAT query support. Lead intercompany reconciliations: validate costs, reconcile charges, resolve issues with group teams, and ensure accuracy of balances. Support month, quarter, and year-end close with accurate financial submissions. Reconcile and control balance sheet accounts; post journals. Provide input for intercompany forecasting and budgeting. Cover Treasury responsibilities as needed. Contribute to business projects and continuous improvement initiatives. About You The ideal candidate will have significant experience in reviewing financial records for external audit or managing the audit process within a finance department, as well as a proven track record of preparing full statutory accounts in a large business. Experience within the FMCG or manufacturing sector is highly desirable, along with a strong ability to streamline processes to improve speed and efficiency while maintaining accuracy. The successful candidate will also be skilled in identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising the companys financial integrity. A solid technical understanding of accounting, up-to-date knowledge of legislation and accounting standards, and advanced Excel skills are essential, supported by proficiency in PowerPoint and familiarity with IBM Cognos and SAP systems.
