What to Expect
As an innovation leader, we are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individual to join our local Engineering team. Working full-time in our Dumfries facility, you will be a competent, qualified and experienced individual who can work as part of a team as well as make individual decisions to support ongoing operational demands within the facility.
We are open to applications from either those experienced in a manufacturing or industrial environment or from domestic electricians who are keen to develop their skills — full training will be provided to support the transition into a plant-based role.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* The work includes carrying out activities listed below with Health, Safety and Environmental considerations.
* Carrying out all work to Company and Legislative Safety, Compliance and Environmental procedures.
* Be an effective communicator at all levels throughout the business.
* Responsible for the electrical maintenance (reactive, planned and improvement) of our plant equipment and process machinery including PLC’s and Electrical Drive Systems.
* Responsible for the electrical breakdown repairs of our plant equipment and process machinery including PLC’s and Electrical Drive Systems, training will be provided.
* Be involved in assisting in training of the apprentices, including acting as mentor and defining best practices. following the logbook of the apprentice to cover every item and show best practice.
* Installation work (3 phase, single phase and containment) also including network cabling. Portable appliance testing.
* Supporting facility Project/ Task derived work as defined in support of site continual investment.
Keys to Success
* Entry-level position with appropriate licenses/training certifications.
* Has basic skills in an analytical or technical process.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Mentor apprentices, providing training and guidance.
* Demonstrate best practices and ensure logbook items are covered.
* Support project and task-based work, occasionally guiding others.
Requirements And Preferred Skills
* Educated to City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) or equivalent and be a time-served electrician.
* Trained to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is advantageous.
* Ideally will have held a similar role within an Industrial Environment post qualification.
* Have a working basic understanding of ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam service systems.
* Strong electrical maintenance skills, including PLCs and drive systems.
* Logical approach to fault finding and preventative maintenance.
* Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Effective team player with good communication skills.
* Willingness to learn new technologies and undergo training.
* Reliable and self-motivated, capable of working independently on shifts.
