Qualifications:
Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English or equivalent (essential)
Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths or equivalent (essential)
Hold a teaching qualification, ideally to Level 5 or willingness to work towards
Casual Car Documentation: The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User, meaning car journeys may be necessary but are not essential. You must hold a full valid driving licence, provide your own car and documentation, and will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information will be handled confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders available upon request.
Manchester Adult Education offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic employability Lecturer to join our team. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing part-time adult courses including:
* Short non-accredited sector-specific courses (e.g., Working in the NHS, Working in Schools)
* Week-long employability courses
* Sector Based Work Academy and Support to Apply provision
* Entry 3 - L2 Employability skills courses (portfolio based)
* Entry 1 - L1 Enterprise qualifications (portfolio based)
Key Accountabilities:
* Deliver teaching and learning to at least a good standard
* Assess learners accurately against awarding body criteria
* Take course leadership responsibilities
* Participate in team meetings and working groups
* Adhere to quality assurance and service policies
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the subject area
You will join a dedicated team passionate about supporting adult learners to improve digital skills for employment or higher education. This is a casual role teaching during daytimes and some evenings.
About The Candidate
* Proven track record of delivering IT courses to diverse learners
* GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or equivalent
* Teaching qualification, ideally Level 5, or willingness to attain it
* Commitment to developing teaching skills
* Experience with e-learning platforms like Google Classroom
* Flexible approach, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to engage adult learners, and role model attributes
