Fixed-term contract/secondment until July 2027 – maternity leave cover

The purpose of Healthcare Improvement Scotland is to ensure the people of Scotland experience the best quality of health and care.

In this role, you will bring strategic thinking to deliver effective communications outputs for external audiences. You will have the ability to write engaging and well-structured copy for a range of audiences, using a variety of communications channels. You should have strong experience using digital channels such as social media posts and producing website copy. Must have experience of using Wordpress.
You will have a keen eye for editing, attention to detail, and experience of creating clear, accessible, engaging content for websites, and running social media activity and campaigns.
You will be able to grasp the bigger picture, clearly explain complex issues to a variety of stakeholders and be adept in the development of impactful key messages.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to contribute meaningfully to communications discussions, and identify communication requirements, through relationships you build with internal stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. You will have the confidence to provide constructive challenge where needed, appraising others' work and written copy as required.
You will bring experience in planning, implementing and measuring campaigns, and you will be able to create clear design briefs, when required.
This post will suit someone who has experience in a busy and varied communications environment. You will be educated to degree level in an appropriate specialist discipline or have relevant experience in public relations, journalism or within an in-house communications team setting.
