Overview

Staff Support Counsellor - Airbus role at Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent part-time post for 15 hours per week, based at Airbus, Broughton, North Wales. The Staff Support Counselling Service offers CBT and short-term brief therapy/counselling support to staff within the organisation. This NHS role combines employment with a private contract service to Airbus as the organisation. You will hold and manage your own caseload, providing assessment and treatment for clients. Clinical supervision is provided within the post and CPD actively supported to ensure accreditation and therapeutic practice remains at a level of excellence and adheres to good practice.

You will have a key role in contributing to the smooth running of the service; ensuring clinical quality is assured and adherence to BACP’s code of ethics and practice as well as At Risk Protocols. This is a permanent part-time post for 15 hours per week.


Responsibilities

* To provide assessment and counselling services to staff using the service.
* To be responsible for the provision of a triage clinic. To make decisions on the suitability of new referrals into the service and to assess risk. Refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
* To formulate and implement plans for counselling and/or brief therapy.
* To organise own caseload, taking professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement with regard to professional practice; to agree and manage time-limited interventions in accordance with specific service level agreements/service policies.
* To undertake individual and group de-briefing of staff following a serious incident with relevant Senior Managers.
* To undertake risk screening assessment of relevant clients and make appropriate referrals to specialist services where risk is identified.
* To liaise and communicate with Occupational Health staff and others concerned with the well-being of staff using the service, subject to the agreement of the individual concerned.
* To provide advice and consultation on staff care as appropriate.


Management, Policy And Service Development

* To contribute to the development of staff counselling and support services through departmental/service meetings.

Induction and Start Date

All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
