Mechanical Shift Engineer 12‑hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) Week 1: 4 night shifts, 3 days off Week 2: 3 day shifts, 1 day off, 3 night shifts Week 3: 3 days off, 4 day shifts Then: 7 days off The Mechanical Shift Engineer will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical plant and equipment across the site. The role involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and continuous improvement activities. Strong diagnostic ability and a proactive approach are essential. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems and complete all associated documentation accurately. Perform reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and carrying out timely and effective repairs. Conduct mechanical fault finding, strip‑downs, rebuilds and component replacements. Support team members and collaborate with electrical and multi‑discipline engineers to maintain safe and efficient operations. Complete mechanical installations, upgrades and modifications to plant and equipment. Supervise visiting subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices and high‑quality workmanship. Maintain a flexible approach to support operational requirements. Ensure all work complies with site safety standards, risk assessments and statutory regulations.
