As a Compliance Analyst at Benchmark, you’ll play a vital part in our ongoing commitment to regulatory excellence and client protection. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to monitor, analyse, and improve our compliance processes helping us remain at the forefront of industry standards.
What You'll Do:
Monitor and Analyse: Run regular exception control reports, ensuring we meet both regulatory and internal standards. Proactively escalate potential issues to the Compliance Manager for timely resolution.
Enhance Our Oversight: Conduct detailed due diligence and risk assessments, and contribute to ongoing compliance monitoring processes.
Support Smooth Operations: Manage day-to-day compliance administration, including updating procedures and maintaining accurate records.
Spot Trends & Drive Improvement: Use daily tasks to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for continual process enhancement.
First-Line Support: Act as the initial escalation point for compliance queries, providing guidance to colleagues.
Collaborate on Projects: Assist with compliance projects and handle varied ad-hoc tasks, adapting to business needs.
Represent Compliance: Attend meetings as the compliance representative and prepare concise meeting minutes as required.
Champion Enhancement: Identify and communicate ideas for improving our systems and procedures.
Engage with Stakeholders: Work closely with senior management, advisers, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective liaison.
Develop Your Skills: Maintain up-to-date CPD records, showing your commitment to ongoing professional development.
Monitor and Report: Support the Compliance Monitoring Officer with the annual compliance plan and contribute to financial crime and AML monitoring.
Assess & Escalate Risk: Identify risk in Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and escalate findings to the Group Financial Crime Manager.
Facilitate Learning: Assist with the production of Management Information (MI) and help with breach administration where necessary.
Stay Current: Keep up with the latest regulatory and business developments to support a compliant, proactive culture.
Be a Team Player: Support the Compliance Manager and wider business as needed to help us deliver outstanding compliance standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Background working within the Financial Services industry.
Hands-on experience in a Compliance function, ideally with a focus on analytical work.
Strong planning and analytical abilities, with great attention to detail.
Solid understanding of the UK regulatory environment, especially FCA requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
Advanced analytical, observational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Confident in using Microsoft Office applications.
A genuine interest in keeping current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and business trends.
It’s a bonus if you also have:
Strong knowledge of investment products and investment platforms.
Familiarity with the wealth management sector.
Understanding of financial crime matters, such as AML, PEPs, and fraud prevention.
Awareness of data protection and GDPR requirements.
The Base
You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.
We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team.
