Milk Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of primary schools and specialist provisions throughout Sunderland and South Tyneside. Opportunities are available on a flexible part-time and full-time basis, with long-term and permanent positions also available.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support that meets individual learning, social and emotional needs.
Responsibilities may include:
8. Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
9. Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs and other additional learning needs
10. Assisting pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks
11. Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
12. Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning
13. Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
14. Supporting the implementation of individual education and support plans
15. Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For:
24. Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
25. A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
26. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
27. A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
28. The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
29. Availability for at least 1–2 days per week (flexible)

Roles are available across Sunderland and South Tyneside, with placements matched to your availability, experience and travel preferences.
