Travel across the fleet is a requirement of this role
Drive the future of clean energy. Protect the integrity of our electrical assets. Shape sustainable power across the UK.
At enfinium, we’re on a mission to lead the UK's transition to a zero-carbon economy by generating reliable, renewable energy from waste. As we continue to grow and innovate, we’re looking for a Group Senior Engineer (Electrical) to join our Asset Management team and provide critical electrical engineering leadership across our fleet.
This is a high-impact role, responsible for ensuring the health, reliability, and future resilience of our electrical infrastructure across all operating assets. If you’re passionate about engineering excellence, grid technology, and sustainability – and you’re ready to make a real difference – we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
* Championing electrical engineering best practices across enfinium – acting as our technical authority.
* Leading electrical asset strategy, ensuring optimal reliability, performance, and safety.
* Driving innovation by introducing new technologies and mitigating risk in existing systems.
* Supporting grid connection strategy and ensuring compliance with grid codes and standards.
* Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver engineering solutions from concept through to operations.
* Leading engineering studies, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
* Influencing the design and commissioning of new assets, embedding learning and resilience.
* Supporting the development of emerging technologies such as carbon capture and hydrogen systems.
What we're looking for:
* A degree (ideally a Master's) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent NVQ Level 7.
* Chartered status with a recognised professional engineering body.
* Proven experience as a senior electrical engineer – ideally in the power generation or energy-from-waste sector.
* Deep understanding of electrical power systems, public grid connections, and transmission infrastructure.
* Demonstrable experience across the full project lifecycle – from feasibility to operations.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A collaborative, forward-thinking mindset with a passion for sustainability and innovation.
Who are enfinium?
As one of the UK’s leading energy from waste operators, enfinium is supporting our country’s journey to a Net Zero economy. We do this by operating and developing six decarbonisation hubs around the UK, where we use waste that would otherwise go to landfill to generate homegrown energy.
Today, enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) - enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes. enfinium is owned by infrastructure investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners
At enfinium we’re guided by five principles, we use these to make sure we’re not only doing a great job, but we’re doing it in the right and safe way:
