Job Description
Provide care and support to residents in the later stages of life at Guisborough Manor Care Home. Deliver compassionate, person‑centred care, creating memories and building lasting relationships while respecting each resident’s dignity and preferences.
Job Overview
Support a busy care home with winter nights, flexible hours, and alternate weekends. The role involves working from the home’s premises, but you may also be called to other locations at the discretion of the company with appropriate notice.
Role-specific Duties
* Ensure residents are at the heart of care delivery, respecting their wishes and preferences to enhance wellbeing.
* Contribute to the efficient running of the service.
* Support residents to maintain relationships and community connections.
* Follow care plans and other supporting information regarding residents.
* Inform the Senior Care Assistant/Nurse of any changes in residents’ needs.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of those being supported.

* Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
* Maintain and develop relationships with residents’ loved ones.

* Have knowledge of and work within the Fundamental Standards.
* Understand the regulatory framework governing the service, including CQC requirements.

Essential Criteria
Good written and verbal English. Proficient written skills to maintain care plans and care records in line with service policy.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5th level education or equivalent.
* Relevant care or health qualification preferred.
Skills
* Strong communication skills to build rapport with residents and inform colleagues.
* Problem‑solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly.
* Ability to assist residents with daily tasks (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, toileting) following their care plan.

* Previous experience is not required.
