Role description:
In this role, you will support the integration and testing of BAE Systems’
autonomy
solutions and payloads across both surface and sub‑surface maritime platforms. You will play a key role within the
autonomy
trials team, supporting and troubleshooting equipment and software during trials for
autonomous
vessels and payloads. Drawing on broad Systems Engineering
expertise, you will contribute to designing and developing solutions, resolving technical issues, and producing high‑quality technical documentation and presentations.
Core Duties:
You will apply ISO 15288 systems engineering
principles
throughout the full lifecycle, from requirements definition to system integration, acceptance, support and disposal. Responsibilities also include developing and reviewing specifications, planning and executing system integration and testing, performing technical reviews and approvals, and providing technical guidance while working
independently
across diverse products and services.
Essential skills:
You’ll possess higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline
You will understand engineering
principles
and approaches underpinning the integration of hardware & software systems for real world operation, and be capable of systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to
complex
problems
You’ll have a good Understanding of networking including RouteOS, Juniper and Cisco
You’ll have a basic understanding of software design and implementation concepts
You’ll have experience of requirements
management
(e.g. IBM DOORS Next) and configuration
management
You’ll have experience of working with large scale
complex
system designs
You’ll have experience of multiple phases of an engineering lifecycle and good knowledge of lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) and associated tools (e.g. JIRA)
You’ll have experience of presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting
You will hold an Eng-1 medical or able to gain one

Lead, this role will directly undertake system integration engineering activities to embody the BAE Systems
Autonomy
system on our surface and sub-surface platforms and associated trials and demonstration activities in the UK and abroad.
