Overview

Corporate Business Development Manager (UK) – Field Based contract with possibility to work from offices in Stafford or Rugby, UK. Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week). Salary: Competitive salary + bonus (depending on experience).

Location: Field Based with optional office work in Stafford or Rugby, UK. Working hours: Vary depending on visit schedules.


Job role

The Business Development Manager at Uzin Utz UK plays a vital role in cultivating and sustaining strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the construction and flooring sectors, including owners, operators, architects, designers, main contractors, planners, developers, and general contractors. This position ensures that Uzin Utz solutions across all UK brands are integrated throughout all phases of the building lifecycle, from early planning to project completion and ongoing maintenance, positioning the company as a trusted partner.

Key responsibility is engaging with key accounts, particularly owners and operators, to establish and maintain lasting relationships by addressing their unique challenges during a building’s operational phase. Close collaboration with stakeholders from the early planning stages ensures tailored solutions and long-term commitments. The role also involves working with architects, planners, and developers to create bespoke specifications that meet each project’s requirements.


Daily activities

* Early engagement with stakeholders: During the planning phase to assess project needs, identify unique requirements, and deliver tailored solutions aligning Uzin Utz products with project needs and industry standards.
* Collaborate with architects, planners and developers: To create customised specifications for Uzin Utz flooring systems, ensuring compliance with technical, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements. Perform RIBA approved CPD seminars face to face and digitally as required to promote best practice.
* Leverage BIM and other digital tools: To integrate Uzin Utz products into digital and analogue planning workflows, ensuring accurate specifications and seamless project execution.
* Support for the sales teams: By providing access and information to key construction projects and ensuring Uzin Utz products are incorporated into tenders from the early stages of planning.
* Work with developers, sub-contractors and other partners: To ensure successful project completion, foster long-term business relationships and create opportunities for follow-up projects.
* Attend industry events and conferences: To build relationships with key stakeholders, expand the company’s presence, and establish strategic partnerships in construction and flooring sectors.
* Identify new business opportunities: In the local market, expanding Uzin Utz’s presence and market share while building strategic alliances with key stakeholders.
* Coordinate with developers, sub-contractors and other project stakeholders: To ensure smooth project execution from design through delivery and ongoing maintenance.
* Organise and deliver product presentations and demonstrations: To key clients, showcasing Uzin Utz’s product benefits and value propositions.
* Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities: To uncover new opportunities and keep Uzin Utz ahead in construction and flooring sectors.
* Regularly update CRM and senior management: On business development activities, project status, and KPIs, providing market insights and risks/opportunities.
* Monitor & update projects and specification pipeline: Using CRM, lead generators (Glenigan) and NBS Source.


Key responsibilities

* Build and sustain long-term relationships: With owners, operators, architects, designers, planners, developers, main contractors and key clients, ensuring Uzin Utz UK is regarded as a trusted partner throughout all stages of the building and flooring project lifecycle.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activities: Keep Uzin Utz at the forefront by offering cutting-edge technical solutions and adapting to digital/technological advances.
* Monitor digitalisation and technological advances: Stay informed about digital tools and best practices to remain ahead.
* Facilitate seamless transitions between project phases: Ensure long-term client retention by aligning decisions with customer needs.
* Client retention and follow-up: Maintain ongoing communication post-project to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities.
* Risk management & compliance: Manage contract, sales process and market risk while ensuring compliance with standards.


Essential criteria for applicants

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience: In a business development or specification role.
* Market and business understanding: Experience in construction chemicals, flooring markets, and new market development.
* Expertise/technical knowledge: Problem-solving approach with understanding of total cost of flooring modifications; strong technical acumen.
* Commercial knowledge: Skilled in commercial operations and sales processes with KPI alignment.
* Relationship building: Ability to build long-term partnerships.
* Methodological competence: Planning, prioritisation, change management.
* Negotiation skills: Effective negotiation to secure resources and align with the company structure.
* Conflict resolution: Ability to recognize and resolve conflicts.
* Communication skills: Clear and transparent communication across levels and functions.
* Decision-making: Timely, resilient decisions.
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Permanent resident in the UK
* Good written and verbal communication skills: Ability to deliver professional presentations.
* Team player: Collaborative across departments.
