Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is looking for a practical and proactive Mechanical Technician to join their site services team at their Haverhill facility. This Mechanical Technician position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the tools, solving problems in real time and keeping essential plant equipment running safely and efficiently.
Working a 4 on 4 off days pattern, this Mechanical Technician role offers structure, stability and the opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing first-response mechanical support across site services and production areas
* Carrying out welding and fabrication work to maintain and improve plant equipment
* Supporting maintenance of steam, water, air and refrigeration systems
* Completing planned maintenance tasks to minimise downtime
* Identifying and delivering small improvements to enhance reliability and safety
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety standards
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications in welding and fabrication (essential)
* Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
* Practical knowledge of site services systems such as steam, water and air
* A hands‑on, proactive approach with strong fault‑finding ability
* Understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial setting
* Boiler knowledge beneficial, but not essential
