Montracon is one of the leading trailer manufacturers serving the UK, Ireland and export markets and offers high quality, diverse product portfolio. We are now looking for Welders on a permanent basis to work at our Factory in Doncaster.
Under general supervision, perform skilled work during the manufacture/build of trailers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of fixtures, apparatus, and other elements in the factory area
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
HEALTH AND SAFETY
* Model the "safety first" behaviors expected of staff, ensuring operational procedures, equipment and processes are designed to provide a safe working environment
* Ensure that team operations, are conducted in manner which fully complies with Montracon's health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
* Wear and maintain PPE as and when required ensuring you are fully compliant with PPE requirements.
* Ensure the safe operation of machinery within the area of responsibility.
* Identify, report and correct unsafe working conditions.
PRODUCTION
* Plan work to minimise waste of raw materials as well as working in a clean and tidy manner.
* Work in accordance with Company operating procedures and guidelines.
* Read and assess production information for required specification details, working in an organised manner to ensure the task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard and within the necessary time frame.
* Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form .
* Conduct basic quality control checks.
* Ensure all Company property issued for use at work is used within guidelines and maintained accordingly.
* Ensure the safe operation of machinery within the area of responsibility.
* Assist in other areas of production within capabilities and commensurate with level in the Company as and when required.
* Identify unsafe working conditions.
* Continually identify and suggest improvements to process, quality, waste management, visual management etc.
* Use a variety of hand held tools and crane operation to build trailers in accordance with SOPs.
* Carry out pre use checks of equipment i.e. ladders, steps, hop ups, cranes, scissor lifts and report defects to Team Leader.
* The above list is not an exhaustive list of duties and the postholder will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by their changing role and overall business objectives in the organisaiton.
SKILLS / ABILITY / EXPERIENCE
* Use tools and equipment used in trailer bodybuilding.
* General knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of trailer bodybuilding.
* Skill in the use and care of hand and power tools and equipment necessary to prepare, fit and fasten body components.
* Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time as required by work assignments.
* Good interpersonal skills
* Good manual dexterity requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as hand tools.
* Experience in the manufacture of trailers and trailer bodies is desirable
