Further information on why work for us The Role: Stoke on Trent City Council In-house legal team provides a full range of legal services to the Authority.
The current vacancy is within the Regulatory team and is for a Paralegal to assist in supporting the wide remit of areas covered with an emphasis on Disrepair matters.
The team is friendly, supportive and with a positive attitude.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated person who is confident, versatile and innovative.
Advocacy is part of this role and as such we are looking for a strong communicator who also possesses and drafting skills.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to obtain experience in regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage caseload of straightforward legal matters
* Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, printing
* Liaise professionally with internal teams, external partners, the Land Registry and members of the public
* Assist with preparing cases for court, including gathering or drafting statements from clients, witnesses and partner agencies
* Support the preparation of high quality legal documents including drafting, formatting and producing court bundles for Magistrates, County and High Court hearings
About You
* Hold a relevant law degree or relevant professional qualification
* Able to develop strong working relationships with strong communication and influencing skills
* Have strong level of IT literacy and able to utilise IT systems
