This role supports the delivery of a major infrastructure programme at Gatwick Airport, specifically focused on the construction of a new pier. The 60-week project involvesplex electrical systems integration in a live airport environment, requiring an experienced engineer with a strong background in large-scale infrastructure and aviation work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead electrical engineering activities throughout the construction of the new pier.
2. Manage installation andmissioning of LV/HV systems, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
3. Ensurepliance with UK electrical regulations, airport standards, and health & safety legislation.
4. Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration.
5. Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and specifications.
6. Monitor progress, manage risks, and report on project milestones.
7. Liaise with the main contractor to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
8. Support procurement and oversee subcontractor performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
9. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
10. Extensive experience in Large infrastructure projects, ideally within aviation or transport sectors.
11. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
12. Strong knowledge of BS7671 and UK electrical standards.
13. Experience working in live operational environments.
14. ECS/CSCS card and relevant site safety certifications.
15. Excellentmunication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills:
16. Familiarity with BIM and digital engineering tools.
17. Experience with airport-specific systems (, airfield lighting, baggage handling).
18. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
