We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants on behalf of a specialist education setting in Reading. This role offers meaningful, hands-on experience with children and young people who have autism, communication differences, sensory needs and learning disabilities. You will be part of a small class team, providing personalised support to help pupils develop independence, emotional regulation, communication skills and confidence.

What You Will Be Doing
7. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis throughout the school day
8. Promoting communication, independence and life skills through structured activities
9. Assisting with personal care, feeding or mobility needs where required (full training provided)
10. Encouraging emotional regulation using gentle, supportive strategies
11. Working closely with teachers and therapy teams to follow individual support plans
12. Keeping pupils safe, calm and engaged in learning and social activities

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:
13. Experience in care, support work, or working with vulnerable individuals (paid or voluntary)
14. A sincere desire to support children and young people with additional needs
15. Patience, resilience and a calm approach when faced with challenges
16. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
17. A willingness to learn and develop professionally
School-based experience is not required—your empathy, motivation, and willingness to support young people are what matter most.
