The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships. Salary: £55,000

Where in Wellcome will I be working?

You will be working with the Research Lead within the Infectious Disease Vaccines team, which advances research and partnerships to help prevent infectious disease by improving how vaccines are developed, used and delivered. Our prevention work focuses on generating evidence and funding activity that enables the effective use of vaccines, particularly in communities most affected by infectious disease. Through collaboration with researchers, partners and policymakers, we turn research into impact. Vaccines are one of the most effective interventions for reducing morbidity and mortality associated with infectious diseases. In the vaccines team, we aim to accelerate the development and optimal use of vaccines to reduce the burden of infectious diseases, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

What will I be doing?

* Deliver projects that enable the Vaccines team to convene experts, make funding decisions and share learning, using your technical expertise to produce high‑quality reports and reviews.
* Contribute to the delivery of the Infectious Disease strategy by building and sharing knowledge across Research Programmes and wider Wellcome.
* Manage a portfolio of Vaccines‑related awards and projects, acting as a main point of contact and coordinating work from set‑up through to completion.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with researchers, partners, funders and external advisers to enable effective decision‑making and collaboration.
* Monitor progress against milestones, manage risks and budgets, and provide clear updates to senior colleagues on delivery and outcomes.
* Work collaboratively across teams to promote inclusive research culture, ensure compliance with Wellcome policies, and deliver work to agreed timelines and standards.

Is this job for me?

This role is well suited to someone with research experience in academia or industry who enjoys working across funding, partnerships and projects to deliver meaningful impact. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, communicating complex ideas clearly to different audiences, and building credibility with researchers, partners and colleagues. If you are proactive, collaborative and motivated by contributing to strategic research and prevention goals, this role could be a good fit for you.

Minimum Criteria

* Have a strong background in infectious disease.
* Understanding/knowledge of preventative tools e.g. vaccines.
* Understanding of clinical research and trials.

Applications Questions
