Health & Wellbeing Manager - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Job Type: Full Time - 37 hours per week General purpose To provide and manage an excellent health and wellbeing service working in partnership with the NHS and other partners To deliver rehabilitation services including a co-ordinate cardiac, pulmonary, stroke, cancer as well as other rehabilitation services aligned to local demand and funding Work with stakeholders to engage them in the design and planning of services, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery Key Deliverables To manage and coordinate the day to day operation of the GP Referral Scheme, Cardiac classes, Pulmonary classes, Stroke Classes, Cancer Classes and any other community rehabilitation sessions or schemes To oversee numerous health and wellbeing schemes, including but not limited to exercise referral schemed, the Simply Active programme, Walking For Health Programme To oversee and manage volunteer walk leaders To lead on the ongoing audit and evaluation of the rehabilitation services To provide monthly statistics across all the health and wellbeing services To act as a source of expertise on evidence based exercise and delivery for cardiac and cancer rehabilitation patients. To present and liaise with GP’s and health specialists on a regular basis to update and inform on how services are co-ordinated and accessed ensuring services have a clear pathway of care and rehabilitation through mainstream services To work with the team to ensure the smooth running of health and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation To review exercise capacity and co-ordinate all referrals of rehabilitation patients to the correct pathways, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team at the NHS To participate in the development of and deliver educational lectures to customers, partners and health professionals Promote the health benefits of physical activity, linking with other stakeholders and agencies that are community based to provide an all-round approach To encourage and promote quicker access into our mainstream services from rehab streams This is to encourage ownership through to the patients and for the gyms and associated services to then provide the support needed To provide services that are easily accessible – residential care and various community settings To be responsible for the safety and security of the customers and equipment whilst on duty and to participate in out of hours work as and when the role requires To support large city events alongside the rest of the team to deliver successful results with stakeholders To work the necessary work patterns to ensure the service is appropriately delivered Any other duties as assigned Requirements: Experience & Skills E = Essential D= Desirable Experience of supervising or managing a team (E) Experience of working in a service delivery customer focused environment (E) Experience of GP Referral and health exercise programmes (E) Experience of delivering rehabilitation classes (level 4) (D) Be able to present to health professionals and stakeholders on current schemes and general health benefits Ability to deal with emergency situations effectively and efficiently Experience of working in a customer focused environment Previous line management experience Experience of stakeholder and partnership working Experience in delivering great customer service (E) Experience in dealing with difficult customers (E) Experience of working across multiple sites (D) Ability to quickly learn new skills (E) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (E) Requirements: Knowledge & Qualifications E = Essential D= Desirable Knowledge of great staff management (E) A current GP Referral Qualification (D) A BACPR phase IV Qualification (D) A current Level 4 Register of Exercise Professional (REPS) or ability to gain (with support from the company) in 6 months (E) A current Cancer Rehabilitation Qualification or ability to gain (with support from the company) in 6 months (E) A current Level 3 Fitness qualification (E) GCSEs C grade or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths (D) A First Aid at Work qualification or willingness and ability to gain (with support from the company) in 12 weeks (E) An enhanced DBS disclosure (E) A full valid driving license or ability to easily get to all facilities (E) Understand the importance of Health and Safety and its application (E) Understand of the importance of and commitment to Equalities and Diversity and its application (E) Requirements: Interpersonal Skills E = Essential D= Desirable Great Customer Service (E) Effective interpersonal skills (E) A good team worker (E) Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E) A positive can do attitude (E) A passion for health and fitness services (E)
