We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Harden Quarry, Rothbury, near Morpeth, Northumberland. As well as Morpeth, this role is easily accessible if you live in Alnwick, Amble, Cresswell, Ashington, Otterburn, Blyth, Wooler, Bamburgh and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
The role of Multi Skilled Operative is part of a key team of Operatives producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry. As well as delivering best in class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for our Plant operations, as Multi Skilled Operative you will specifically focus on operational tasks including:
1. Working with aggregates on site and operating machinery (Including Loading shovel, Excavator and Mobile Crusher
2. Day to day maintenance of the plant,maintaining the highest levels of house keeping
3. Training and operation on static plant operations to help drive plant optimisation
4. Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
5. Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
6. Weighbridge duties
7. Use of Loading shovel (mobile Plant), Excavator and Mobile Crusher
8. Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
9. Maintaining and driving a culture of zero harm and behavioral safety
10. Compliance and awareness Health and Safety measure around the site
The Ideal Candidate
Suitable candidates for the role Multi Skilled Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience preferably working within a similar aggregates environment or an Industrial or Factory environment as an operative or labourer. You will also possessgood communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
As part of an operational team, the ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will also:
11. Have knowledge of the industry, Plant and ideally of quarrying
12. Previous experience in mobile Plant operations preferably using Loading Shovel, Excavator and Mobile Crusher
13. Be flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operative team
14. Be self motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team
15. Have knowledge of Risk Assessments within role of operative and knowledge of SSOW (HIRA) and Permit systems (preferred but not essential)
16. Be compliant and engage with company policies, targets,goalsand standards
17. Good time keeping – flexible as to the Units requirements
18. Good communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
19. Be IT literate
20. Full UK Driving Licence
21. Shovel Licence– desirable
22. Excavator Licence- desirable
