Job Description:
The radiology department at Raigmore Hospital has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop themselves in the field of radiography. Joining the team initially as a Health Care Support Worker the successful individual will integrate within the wider team, assisting in patient transfer, preparation and care. Whilst also providing a friendly welcoming outlook as the front of the department.
As this an Annex 21 post, the individual will in late Summer 2026 commence formalised education in Certificate of Higher Education in Radiographic Studies. This will comprise 1 year of hybrid studies to include block University attendance and work based placement within NHS Highland. On completion of studies (summer 2027) the candidate will progress into Band 4 role of Assistant Practitioner, working alongside radiographer colleagues to produce high quality imaging.
Whilst experience in a radiology department is not necessary, we are looking for individuals with a background in health care, a thirst for knowledge and want to improve the patient journey whilst working with latest in imaging technology.
The post is graded as Band 4. If appointed, you will be paid in accordance with Annex 21. A post with Annex 21 applied is paid a percentage of the fully qualified rate during the period of training as follows: Year 1: 70% of the pay band maximum; Year 2: 75% of the pay band maximum (uplifted to the Scottish Living Wage) per annum.
Further information can be provided by Stewart Murdoch, Conventional Imaging Team Lead on enquiry.
