Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. Duties
* Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
* Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
* Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
* Participate in the training of new kitchen staff as required.
* Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar culinary environment is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
* A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
