Multi Site Technician – City Building Engineering Services (CBES)

Job Purpose

This is a key position carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations within a specified region. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores, ensuring compliance with company health and safety procedures. Scope covers bakery and catering equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, lighting, building fabric, water services, HVAC, fire & security, and general electrical issues.


Key Accountabilities

* Represent the company professionally and develop working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
* Complete all necessary PPMs and ensure remedial tasks are logged and actioned, maintaining legal compliance.
* Supervise the Maintenance Assistant, providing coaching and support.
* Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess requirements and carry out repairs.
* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLAs.
* Communicate with ASDA Store Management teams and RES regarding any repair or maintenance issues affecting store operation.
* Carry out surveys and complete required reports.
* Perform alterations and installations within technical competence and current specifications.
* Execute general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES, including building fabric and surfaces.
* Assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested by the RES.
* Recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MA following company processes.
* Maintain accurate administration, recording jobs live and utilising time effectively.
* Attend training courses as necessary, ensuring personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
* Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
* Ensure current compliance documentation for relevant tasks is completed to required quality standards.
* Ensure team attends and completes mandatory training, including induction and eLearning modules within required timescales.
* Provide on‑the‑job coaching and support to the team to meet performance standards.
* Deliver technical coaching solutions, encouraging trainee participation.
* Complete induction and training administration, including probationary reviews.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours standby rota (minimum 1 week in 4) and complete general repairs to plumbing systems during standby.
* Carry out first look for equipment such as fire & security, HVAC, electrical and general issues.
* Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES or other City Management Team.

* Interview, recruit, oversee and manage the Maintenance Assistant / Mobile Maintenance Assistant and Multi‑site Maintenance Assistant for the stores they cover.
* Update Cascade, managing holidays and absences.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General Education

* GCSE Standard (Desirable)

Professional / Academic / Vocational Qualifications

* Essential
* C&G 2382 (18th edition)
* Level 3 core Electrical qualification (e.g., C&G2330, C&G 2365)
* Desirable
* Familiarity with completion of electrical certification
* City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
* Time served in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience in a similar role


Specific Knowledge

* 3‑phase electrics and its applications (Essential)

* Ability to complete the standard required for maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic equipment and appliances (Essential)
