At the King Edmund School, we are entering a bold new chapter. With a brand-new school building, an aspirational student body, and a new Headteacher at the helm, we are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography to join our inspiring and collaborative Humanities faculty.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Geography to join our Humanities faculty. As a Geography Teacher, you'll be instrumental in developing students’ understanding of the world, fostering their curiosity, and building their analytical skills through an exploration of the subject. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons that encourage a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, environments, and global issues, while supporting students in developing their research and critical thinking abilities. You will work closely with the Head of Department and wider team to plan, deliver and assess an engaging and contemporary curriculum.
What We’re Looking For
* A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
* Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with first class classroom management skills
* The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
* Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
* A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
* The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
* A clear commitment to improving your own and others’ performance through effective continuous professional development
