We’re looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our Client’s expanding engineering team. If you’re someone who takes pride in precision work, problem-solving, and ensuring tooling performs at its best, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment.
🔨 About the Role
In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of tooling, ensuring all work meets the quality standards required by both production and design departments. You’ll play a key part in keeping tools performing efficiently, as well as contributing to continuous improvements using your technical knowledge and experience.
⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing
* Repairing, maintaining, and modifying tooling to support production needs
* Ensuring all tooling work is completed to a high quality and in line with design specifications
* Using machining skills (manual or CNC) to produce precise and reliable components
* Troubleshooting tool performance issues and implementing effective solutions
* Supporting continuous improvement activities by drawing on previous tooling challenges
* Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and design teams
🧩 What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Toolmaker within manufacturing
* Strong machining skills: milling, turning, grinding or CNC
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* A problem-solver with excellent attention to detail
* Knowledge of mould tools, press tools, jigs, or fixtures (desirable)
* A team player with a proactive approach
