Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £100 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you an experienced and reliable Attendance Officer with a passion for supporting students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated Attendance Officer to work across three school sites in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference in students’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor daily attendance and punctuality using school systems.
Contact parents/carers regarding absences and follow up on unexplained absences.
Collaborate with staff and external agencies to support students with attendance concerns.
Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports for senior leadership.
Support SEN students in overcoming barriers to attendance.
Conduct home visits when necessary (must be a driver with access to a vehicle).
Promote a positive attendance culture across all three school sites.
Requirements:
Must have previous experience in a school or attendance-related role.
Experience working with SEN students is essential.
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle (travel between sites required).
Strong IT skills – confident using Microsoft Office and school systems (e.g., SIMS).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
A positive, solution-focused attitude and a team player mindset.
An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
